Grace lost her second tooth.  She is not one for letting me take her picture but she was so excited about losing her tooth that she agreed to have this picture taken.

Caleb and the kids came over for lunch after church.  When Caleb came in and took off his boots, Brian said Maesyn took hers off and went over and put them right beside her Daddy's.

One of my favorite photographs so far this year.

Nick got tickets to the Harlem globetrotters so he took Brian and the boys.  They had a great time and even got souvenirs.

They were going to stop on the way down to Sprint Center and get something for dinner but Brian said the boys were just too excited to eat and they wanted to go straight there.  They stopped at Town Topic on the way home, which from the way they were going on when they got back, must have been a fun and memorable stop.

For years, since Nick was just a little boy, we have celebrated January birthdays.  We have missed just a few years but Pops was determined we would celebrate this year.  He told me back in November that he wanted to go to Jess and Jim's for dinner.  That was one of the first places we went for January birthdays.

It was such a good evening and the food was really good.  Pops really enjoyed himself and kept saying, "That was a lot of fun and I liked it."  So thankful to still be able to celebrate birthdays with my Dad.

Birthday #81 for Pops, #36 for Nick and #57 for me.

Hello, my name is Jil and I am a blockofthemonthaholic.  Yes I know that isn't a real word but for me and my friends that know me so well, believe it is legitimate.

It seemed like every time Prairie Point Quilt store started a new block of the month, it was one I really liked.  So I would sign up for it, maybe make the first couple of blocks and then move on to something else.  This picture shows 3 different BOM's.  I have vowed I will NOT sign up for a BOM this year.

This is the year of finishing up old stuff.  I have started working on these and am determined to get them all finished by the end of the year.  I think that is doable with the exception of the ones in the back.  They are needle turn appliqué done by hand and they take a LONG time to do.  At least I will be working on them.

Prompt today was kindness.  I certainly think that this text shows kindness from my good friend Donna.  Sometimes we just need to sound off and I'm glad I was here to help her.  So many times, after you have talked through it with a friend it doesn't seem nearly as bad as you thought.

Prompt list again.  Bethadilly's prompt today was three.  How perfect that I had 3 of the grandkids at Hy-Vee with me.

Grace and Maesyn are happy to be shopping, Gage, not so much.

This is a photograph of what I had mentioned before.  This is a box filled with power layouts.  The pictures for a double page spread is stacked on the paper that goes with those pictures.  I had more layouts than my box would hold.  Time to get to work.

Yes, there will be missed days with this 365.  I am approaching it this time with a realistic goal.  I know I will miss days and that's okay.  Even with missed days, I'm picking up my camera the majority of the days which in turn keeps me practicing.

This was the final list of pictures from the CD for the month of December 2006.  Walgreens still had their sale and I didn't want to miss it.  I have to say it feels good to be printing pictures again and actually being able to see them and show them to other people.

For the first time in several years, Molly is hosting crops again.  She use to have regular Friday night crops but when she quit Creative Memories she quit having them.  Creative Memories has rebounded and started up again and she has become a consultant again.

It was just like old times getting together with others at a crop.  Wish I could say I got a lot done but I really didn't.  But I had a good time and that counts for something.

The sky has been gorgeous the last few mornings but I'm never at a place to stop and take a picture.  This morning I noticed it right after I got out of our subdivision.  I quickly pulled into the parking lot of the neighborhood park and shot this photograph.  Of course, pictures never does it justice but you get the idea.  I don't think I have ever seen it with such bold colors.

I had to resort to a prompt list.  I couldn't come up with any ideas so I looked at my lists.  I print out monthly prompt lists from two different sites.  One is Capture Your 365 and the other one is The Bethadilly Challenge.

Today's prompt for Bethadilly was "prospective".  I couldn't even come up with an idea for that either so I asked Brian.  His first thought was the glass half full or the glass half empty.

I'm sure my perspective changes with the day.  Sometimes I would call it half empty but then there are other days I would be happy to call it half full.  So, for me, perspective changes with circumstances.

Not only am I working on old pictures for scrapbooking, I'm also trying to finish up 2006.  Walgreens had a 9 cent print sale so I went through the rest of 2006 CD's and picked pictures to print.  Now there is no excuse for not getting busy.

Stopped for gas on the way to work this morning and what a wonderful surprise.  Gotta love it when its this cheap because I'm sure it won't stay this way.

This is where I am in the process of scrapbooking my "old" pictures.  I lay out all my scrapbook paper and then match pictures to paper for power layouts.  That way when I start scrapbooking, it goes so much faster.

Some might think I have a problem with collecting paper.  In my defense, I have to say that the majority of this paper was bought when Archivers went out of business.  They had a really good sale. I think I went back to the store 3 times that week and bought paper.  On the bright side tho, I don't have to go buy paper when I'm ready to scrapbook because I have plenty.

This represents something really big for me.  For as long as I can remember, well, I guess forever, I have kept ALL my pictures.  I have thousands of pictures.

I have turned over a  new leaf.  It started in the middle of the year last year that I was able to delete more and more pictures.  I mean really, who needs 14 pictures of the same kid, standing in the same spot, doing the same thing with the same expression.  I realized scrapbook pages and digital photo books are more interesting when you have more variety in the pictures.

I started going through all my old photo albums starting with Brian and I dating and pulling pictures to scrapbook for family albums.  This is the stack of pictures I pulled to THROW AWAY.  I know, it makes me break out in hives and have sweaty palms.  BUT I CAN DO IT!

I have made great progress and am able to delete lots of my pictures when I upload them to Lightroom.  This is the new me and some people, especially Molly can't believe I have been able to do this.  Just for an example, I could take 80 pictures of a soccer game.  The really old me might delete 10.  Then I got to where I could possibly delete maybe 25-30.  The "new me" can now get it down to where I only keep around 15 pictures.   I know 15 is still a lot for the normal person BUT, look how far I have come.

Believe me, I still have tons of pictures but its a far cry from what I use to keep.  I feel so grown up and responsible now.  Old habits die hard BUT they can die.

Oh the excitement of getting a box in the mail, and especially from Barnes and Noble.  I spent my Christmas gift card and got 4 new books.  Now to decide which one to read first.

New Years Day.  Nick, Jenn and the kids came over to spend the day.  We ate and watched football and Jennifer and I worked on picture projects.

The boys got tired of all the football and decided to get out the hot wheel cars and race track.  I came in the living room and found them like this.  I thought it was pretty cool that even as old as they are getting they still love playing with cars.  Guess You don't ever get too old for Hot Wheels.
