Photography

 Molly came over for pizza and then we looked at photography books. She helped me learn more about Flickr. It was a good productive evening. 

I have now started carrying my big camera EVERYWHERE.  The little camera just wasn't doing it for me.  I also now carry a purse (which I usually didn't) all the time so I can have my camera everywhere I go.  Joycelyn told me I needed to use my big camera and she was right.

Rice Krispie Treats

I had been craving rice krispie treats for 2 days so Brian gave in and went to the store to get the stuff and came home and made a batch.  I had eaten half a pan by the time I went to bed.  Needless to say, the counting calories days are long gone.  They disappeared the day we left on the cruise.

Nick ribs

The high school kids had a fundraiser Sunday night after church. Nick did ribs to sell. Thats pretty much what he is known for and they are a big seller. They are pretty tasty and I don't even like ribs. He makes his own sauce too. Meats in Motion is the name of his catering company.

Laundry

This is how you spend the day after you have been gone on vacation for a week.  But what a great week it was.

Carter all pooped out

On the way home from the airport 3 of the 4 kids went sound asleep just as soon as we started driving. Our little captain was all tuckered out.

Walt Disney

After we got off the boat around 7:30am, Brian went with Nick, Jenn and kids to spend the day and I went with Caleb, Amy and kids to Disneyworld.

Brooklynne at sea

Spent the whole day at sea coming back to Orlando. The kids enjoyed spending the day doing all the fun stuff on the boat. Can't get a much happier face than this.

Blake deep in thought

Not sure what to make of this face. I don't think he was mad or upset about anything.  My guess is, he was just tired. Pretty cute face. Wish I knew what he was thinking.

Noah on the beach

Spent the day at Freeport, Bahamas at the beach. The kids loved playing in the ocean with the exception of Jentry. She wasn't too fond of it. Took lots of pictures of the kids but really liked this close up of Noah. Love the way his freckles show up.  He sure is growing up.

Sign and Sail

Greatest birthday present you could ask for, getting a sign and sail card to board a cruise ship for a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. Wonderful day.  Happy Birthday to ME!

The Plane

 FINALLY, our plane that we are actually going to get on. We left at 3:45 and got to Orlando at 7:10.  Even after all the frustration, waiting and worrying on Friday, it ended up being a much better deal to fly nonstop.  The kids did great on the flight.

The flight that never happened

 This is a picture of the flight that never happened. We were suppose to leave KCI at 6:00 and fly to Chicago for a connecting flight to Orlando. It started snowing in Chicago Fri. morning and continued all day.  They kept delaying our flight. Finally Brian and Caleb went to see what our options were.  They said nothing was going in or out of Chicago but she could book us on a nonstop flight on Sat at no additional charge. We jumped on that deal.  After alot of tears from the kids, who thought we weren't going  at all since we were going back home, it was going to be better.  Over 700 flights were cancelled on Fri.

All Packed

All packed and ready to go on the cruise.  One suitcase full of clothes and the other one full of snorkels, masks, fan, games and other misc items.

Getting new snorkels

Brian and I went to Dicks Sporting Goods at Town Center Plaza to get us new snorkels and masks. The kids all got new ones for Christmas so we decided we needed new ones.  Getting ready for the big trip.

Candles

 I'm not very happy with the quality of this picture but it definately represents our home.  I burn candles or my scentsy pretty much every day. 

 I want to improve on my picture taking but I also want the picture to represent me and my daily life whether it lives up to my expectations in the quality department or not.

Gage

Happy, happy boy, our grandson Gage.  Complete with a dirty face.  A dirty face dosen't bother him at all but maybe Grama should had cleaned it a little.  Love the red hair and blue eyes.  The minute he sees the camera he starts sayin "cheese".

Yahtzee

After watching football all afternoon and eating dinner Brian and I played 6 games of Yahtzee.  I will leave it to you to see if you can read the score cards to see who won.

Chocolate

This is what I allow myself to eat when I don't want to eat alot of calories but need just a little something sweet to eat.  Keeps me on track.  Not my favorite candy bar but it will do to get me by.

Jentry

Still playing around and trying different settings on the camera.   Jentry was engrossed in a movie so she was a good subject.  I know she looks sad but she really isn't.

Camera Lessons

I spent the afternoon with Molly at Barnes and Noble so she could start teaching me some things about my camera. We are both wanting to learn more about our cameras and what all they will do. She can read something and pick up on it right away.  I have to be shown something to learn it. She is way ahead of me and trying to teach me what she has already learned. Took several pictures playing with the light and decided this was the one I liked the best.  Hope she doesn't give up on me before I learn some stuff.

Snow

This is not a good picture but its a picture of the snow that we were FINALLY getting after not having any, all of Dec.

I started this project just using my little Nikon camera that is very very old. The quality of the pictures just aren't very good.  I have decided to use my big camera when I have it.  Its just so big to lug around all the time.  Going to look at buying a new little camera.

Food Journal

 Along with exercising comes healthy eating. The only way for me to get going on this is to track my daily caloires.  It was time to get out the Biggest Loser (my favorite show) food journal.  Happy Birthday Nick!

Exercising

 
Time to get back to walking/jogging.  Hit the pavement for 2 miles tonight.  I'm very motivated right now but we will see how long that lasts.  The shoes have a few miles on them but need to have alot more.

The Nook

Started a new book on my Nook today.  "Unbroken" by Laura Hildenbrand was highly recommended to me by a friend at work.   I hope its a good one because it is over 500 pages long.  Love reading on my Nook.

Computer Time

Spent most of the day uploading pictures to the computer and putting them on CD's and also going through older CD's to pick out pictures to be printed.  Time consuming project but at least I have all my pictures on CD's, labeled and in date order.

Razorbacks

The Arkansas Razorbacks played in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.   I told Pops that I wanted Cotton Bowl tickets for my birthday but had to settle for watching it on TV.  The Razorbacks defeated the Kansas State Wildcats 29 to 16. It was a fun evening. This was the best I could do at getting a picture of something razorback and also have the game on the TV in the background.   Happy Birthday Pops!

Hair Cut

Got a hair cut when I got off work at 12:30.  Stephanie Runberg has been cutting my hair for several years now.   She really makes the time getting a haircut enjoyable.  She was very excited about my 365 project but not so excited about being the subject of one of the pictures.

My Job

First day back to work answsering the switchboard after being off for two weeks for Christmas break.   I know it is old school but thats how we roll here at MNU. At least I'm not plugging and unplugging little prongs into a big board. :)

Quilting

I spent the afternoon cutting out the next block for my Kansas City Star block of the month quilt.

Shopping with Vera

 Brian took me shopping at Vera Bradley to spend the gift card that Nick and Jenn got me for Christmas.  I bought the wallet that matches the purse that Caleb and Amy gave me for Christmas.  I have to have matching pieces for all my purses.  Its an OCD thing I guess.

Our Church

 We started the year off at church.  What a good place to begin the new year.
